Bare board test

Bare board testing refers to a PCB manufacturing company testing the continuity and isolation of electrical connections on an empty PCB before connecting important components such as ICs. Continuity PCB testing involves verification to ensure that there are no open points in the circuit. On the other hand, perform an isolation test to ensure that you meet the required resistance between the two separate electrical connections. The idea behind bare board testing is to ensure that the PCB circuit is partially correct. Bare board testing is particularly important because it can save the manufacturing company money and time, thereby avoiding repairs, field testing and maintenance costs.


Assembly level test

For PCB board assembly, assembly level testing is crucial. After the meeting, assembly-level testing is essential to check the function of the printed circuit board. These tests can be done manually or using automatic test equipment. The important thing to note is that this equipment is a bit expensive because assembly-level testing requires the use of multiple test equipment, such as automatic X-ray inspection and automatic optical inspection equipment, to name a few.
